Become an nanny or 'au pair', then I'm sure you could get a Green Card if you found a family who needs your services...

Hi: I am an American male and I am involved with a tgirl and for now on I am just going to use the term lady from the Philippines. We are very serious about each other and I have studied all the different ways of trying to get her here. It is indeed a difficult task. In my case she has a sister who is married to an American and her sister will gain her citizenship this year. At that point she can petition to have my lady come to the states. The petition will take a year to get approved. So we are still looking at a year and a half until she is here.
A tourist visa is probably out of the question. But I have opened a joint bank account in the Philippines which I slowly but surely add money too. My main focus at this point is to try to find a way to get her here with a work Visa. Someone had mentioned Au Pair in this discussion thread. I think that is a great idea and I am going to look into it myself. Of course I don't have children, so there could be some difficulties there.
In the state I live in same sex marriage is legal and we will get married as soon as she is here. We will have a ceremonial marriage performed in the Philippines on January 10th 2012.
I really think it is a shame that governments get in the way of love. But hang in there. Raffy and I are on Skype everyday for 3 to 4 hours a day. When we first started getting serious there were some bumps in the road. I did not know how hard a long distance relationship was. We got over the bumps. We have an excellent relationship and while she speaks English it is Philipina english. Anytime either one of us does not understand we have learned to ask for clarification.
We are both very much in love. We understand the obstacles that lay in front of us and we are both comitted to overcoming them. If I find a way other than her sister petitioning I will let everyone here know. I will be there for almost a month and we are planning on looking at every approach while I am there.
Good luck.
Bill
