how can I get my liver function checked ?

I would describe myself as a recovering alcoholic, having drunk a bottle of wine every day for many years ( 10- 15 years? ) I am 40+ - and have recently stopped drinking! :)

I am quite a passable woman, no great beauty, but confident in day to day life, having mastered my voice and removed my beard completely- I find it hard to pass as a man without effort and have walked the androgenous path in my professional life - but recently I lost my job - it was unsaid - but being trans seemed to be a part of it.

I havent taken hormones at all - but have noticed my hair is thinning despite propecia and regaine..

This is making me really depressed! so want to suppress the hair loss - thinking about taking spiro as its a stronger testosterone inhibitor..

or maybe applying some gel to my scalp.. would it work?

at my age will make much difference?

We have the same problem with liver! I had a problem with my kindey many years ago because of taking hormones and then one time the lest side of my belly feels pain from time to time so I went to the doctor for a check up and they told me that its all because of drinking and smoking and eating fatty foods but still i cannot stop drinking and smoking so now I feel a little pain again and Im really afraid to go back to the doctor for a check up! I took hormones for almost 8 years and i stop for 3 years now and just like you my hair starts to get thinner and thats also my problem and I really feel so depressed about it. As we all know specially on Trans people that hair is our crowning glory. theres some shampoo products for the hair but its really expensive. but I think you need to try to go to the doctor for the check up if you feel some pain on the lower side of your belly and for the hair just dont use shampoo everyday and drink a lot of water and fruits and vegetables will help.

:!: Please don't take too much alcohol also after the eat dinner or lunch don't eat fruits least 30 minutes because also it is harmful for liver, drink enough water not over eat, artichokes and fresh food you will start to feel better inside maybe in 1 or 2 weeks inside and please have exercise...

Get well soon, please take care!!!

thats good advice! i did lots and lots of swimming over the summer - love the beach!

shame it only took me about 17 years to learn to control my drinking!

I am feeling better as its been 2 weeks now.. I did drink of the week end - but at least its not every day - I dont wanna turn into a nun!

@asiassexgoddess

a) You shouldn't smoke (do recreational drugs in moderation if you must indulge--at least you get a 'high' instead of just killing yourself slowly with smelly cancer sticks)

b) You should drink only in moderation (a couple of drinks per day is actually good for you, especially for woman, and getting drunk once a fortnight or so is tolerable too)

c) You shouldn't eat junk food (healthy food is actually yummier than junk once you get used to it.... and it makes you feel good to boot)

d) Exercise 3–5 times per week

e) Use hormones cyclically, with a month or so's break in between courses, to rest your liver, kidneys etc (long term, continuous use of any drug or chemical will affect the body somehow... usually adversely)

f) Go to the doctor if you're feeling unwell, even for annual check-ups; that's what they're there for (it's better to know you're sick and then have the tools to do something about it than leaving it to the point of no return and dying with regret...)

Heed this advice or do not expect to be an "Asian sex goddess" for too long. Image
