New Zealand suffered from the worst of the privatisation wave that hit much of the English speaking world, starting in the 1980's. Parts of the economy got very badly damaged in the process. Even services like food in hospitals got sooooo bad that patients were developing nutritional deficit diseases, like scurvy.

Incredibly beautiful country, amazing people, but the economy needs a serious kick start in some areas.

And for any New Zealand readers, I wish to express my sorrow on the passing of a truly noble man, Sir Edmund Hillary.

cheers,
Tony

Hey; coming to you from sunny Wellington. This is still a good place to live; but yes; we need more people.A sudden influx of Asian Ladyboys would definitely help to ease the pressure.
Yes we do have same-sex marriage; is known as "Civil Union"
Cheers.
