Anyone else here? My child wants to start going to an American school on a military base as a full-time girl. Joie is already known as a boy. What do I do? Is there any other trans kiddo on the island?

A bit overwhelmed,
Venessia
aka Joie's Mommy

Hi Venessia and welcome aboard.

I think you're the only Japanese member here yet..

As for the school you should definitely talk to the school's principals about you kid to avoid any misunderstandings.

Good luck.

Thanks for the advice, we sure can use it!!
We have an appointment to see the principal tomorrow, along with the school psychologist. We will see our pediatrician next Tuesday.
After all this time, everything seems to be happening so quickly!

You do everything in the right way Venessia. It's important to talk to a psychologist and to other doctors. Your child is so young and needs a lot of support from you.

ps: You're a great mom! 8-)

It is so refreshing to see someone so young getting the love, support, and understanding of her family. It also sounds from your posts, that you are treating her seriously and not thinking that it is just a phase she might be going through.
