My story is complicated. In many respects I'd like to relay it all here because I think I need advice on several fronts. I'll give the quickest summary I can then pose my key questions:

Some months ago I meet on-line a TS, who happens to be the most beautiful and amazing person in the world - beautiful on the inside as well the outside. We've been through a huge amount of turmoil in these months: with inevitable doubts about motives on both sides, but our love has grown ever deeper, although we still have not met and of course this is my top priority. After my wife discovered this relationship we underwent marriage guidance counselling before agreeing to separate, with a view to divorce. This is all very painful because I have 3 children, but after searching my soul long and hard I'm sure I can't continue in a "conventional" relationship with my wife. I simply have to be with a TS and I want this to be the one I love in the Philippines.

This brings me to my key question: can anyone offer advice on the process of obtaining a visa etc to allow us to live as a couple in the UK ? I've already found lots on the net but I'd very much like to connect with somebody who's actually been through this process.

Regarding the wider picture of what's happening in my life. Wow - I really feel like my head is spinning. Are there any words of support anyone can offer ? Its those kids of mine that worry me, and also leaving my wife behind. This seems like a very selfish way for me to be behaving and I wish I could come to terms with the guilt I feel.

Hi nick_314159, Immigration is a very complex matter and there are so many variables that relate to each individuals circumstances.

I would advise you to seek the services of an immigration solicitor. I am sure there are many in the UK.

http://www.gryklaw.com/ came up tops in a Google search and also openly state they deal with specialised areas of gay & lesbian immigration.

http://www.wilsons-solicitors.org.uk/immsolicitors.html were second and also have a gay & lesbian specialist.

I would shop around though.

Good luck.

Mame

Hi Nick

Don't do any serious steps in you live until you meet her... Try to live together first.

Good luck

Hi Nick,

I would agree with Monica.. meet in real and spend sometimes together.. from my own experienced, it can be alot of different in real and on net.. plus on net we might spend not as much time in real, which also less emotional expressed on net.. give it sometimes before commitment..

besides that, you might want to think about your children accepting your new life and your new partner.. all these must be clear before any serious actions.. and ofcourse discuss with your wife too, before she ripped you of.. beclear bout your feelings..

take a vacation and meet your partner, spend sometimes together and discuss bout future together.. get ready all documents, ie passport, prove of you know this person (emails, chat history, SMS, phone bills, receipts of any gifts you send, or money transections, education qualifications etc etc..) prepare them and consult with immi solicitor..

P.S LOVE and LUST(desire) is 2 different things.. be clear bout it too..

best of luck to Nick..

and best of luck to you too sheira.. "semoga apa yang diimpikan menjadi kenyataan, salam ikhlas.."

Hi everyone and thanks for your advice. Yes, I agree that meeting is absolutely essential. I'm still checking out the legal situation and will have to fight my aversion to lining the pocket of the legal fraternity ;)

For anyone interested specifically in coming to the UK I think this is both helpful and encouraging "http://www.filipinouk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=1017". Its basically a case study for a hetro couple where the woman came to the UK from the Philippines. The UK govt is non-discriminatory so I believe this is equally applicable, but with Civil Partnership iin mind rather than marriage.

Good luck TS_Shiera, Monica and anyone else on either side of this problem !

That sounds about right xxx9356. My cousin is currently emigrating from the UK and she and her boyfriend had to spend about $5000 all up including all the medical forms and fees including the sponsorship fee.

Good luck. :)
