Um... Um... Natural! um... Make up?...

How about this... Make up isn't really important, but if you want to go out and stun a crowd with me on a great outing, then feel free to use makeup... But if you feel confident enough around me to go natural either behind closed doors or out in public, then be sure that I will see your true beauty no matter what :-p

HA Ha thanks, but actually I don't have a preference... That was just my best way of trying to explain my best opinion on the subject. I feel that feeling is the most important thing. Whether you care about someone or not. So if they want to wear makeup or not is really not that important to me. All I want is to love the person and be loved in return :-p

Getting off the topic, I am increasingly aware of the attitude in the trans community that being 'special' is all we need to make a relationship work. We seem to be failing to do the personal growth and development needed to make cohabitation, especially when emotions are concerned, possible and desirable. I look back even a few years ago and realise than any relationship I had back then would probably have never lasted. I have done a lot of growing up in the last few years, especially the last 12 months and I am sure I will do much more. No matter how 'in love' you are, relationships are difficult - especially when you can often have society against you.

I myself like to put on make-up and do varnish my finger- and toe-nails too. I think each woman likes that (not only real girls) and it makes me feel well. To look beautiful belongs to women's nature even if some girls have that natural beauty, however they also put on make-up.
Regarding our species; yes, unfortunately there are some girls who have a bit of that manly look (me too) and for that reason we try to hush up that look with make-up. I think that is normal. We also want to look beautiful for our men after all, and that has nothing to do with a lack of self-confidence.

Natural beauty is wonderful, especially when popular culture tells us we need a lot of make-up to look beautiful. One of my turn-offs is too much make-up, especially overdone lipstick. Honestly, I prefer no lipstick at all. A little eye shadow is great though, especially dark eye shadow. ^_^

Heh Zoey, what do you mean with... "Natural beauty is wonderful, especially when popular culture tells us we need a lot of make-up to look beautiful"?

Whoops, poor wording on my part. :(

I basically meant that popular culture today tells women that we need to have lots of makeup in order to be flawlessly beautiful. I feel this puts lots of unnecessary pressure on women to overdo their makeup. However, in my opinion this only encourages a kind of false beauty, as if we have to hide our natural features to be beautiful. I wholeheartedly prefer natural, makeup-less beauty (regardless of how a woman may appear) to the artificial look. If a woman does use make-up, it should be to enhance their natural beauty, not cover it up.

Hope that clears things up.

Now Zoey, I never have said we girls should or must hide our natural beauty behind a mask. In no way. However I think, it is beautifully that we can still beautify our natural look with make-up. It is allowed for every single one of course whether he does it or he leaves it. There is no obligation. But please, do think about too, Zoey... we girls have it not easy to get a natural female look. We are actually male. We never will look flawlessly. Therefore, make-up can help us to look more femininely and prettier. Regarding natural beauty I think, the only ones that really have a female look is the Asian girls. Most of them do not need make-up, they have that female look from birth.
I myself like to beautify my appearance depend of the occasion. At home I do not wear make-up or lipstick, at least very rarely. If I want to spend a romantic night with my darling, then I dress myself seductively for the bedroom and put on make-up too. Oh my God, what do I tell here.
OK, if I go out for dinner or have a trink in any bar, then I put on a nice make-up that matches my clothes. So I use eye-liner, eye-shadow, rouge my face a bit and wear lipstick. Lipstick sometimes quite, sometimes more reddish depend of my clothes.
My daily make-up in the street is just quite, not too conspicuously but nice I think. Just eye-shadow and lipstick. But the only thing that matters is my hands and finger nails. That is very importent to me. For that I spend a bit of money and time because...
a) I don't like uncared-for hands and finger because that is also a sign of our male gender and age. I have seen many sisters with still very manly hands. Therefore I cannot understand if girls do not take care of their hands.
b) I really like to wear various nail polish. It can look so nice and sexy sometimes. Therefore I sometimes go into a nail parlor and let treat my fingernails and toe-nails.

Hi Grace, I agree with you. I don't wear foundation anymore - not during the day anyway. I am lucky, I have excellent skin and never got pimples when I was a teenager. Hormones made it even better. Because of this I only use tinted moisturiser. I evens out the skin tone but doesn't look heavy or chalky. Nothing worse than a woman with make-up caked on her face.

I don't wear nail polish. I have recently started having my nails done. I have acrylic french tips. I don't like the painted look personally but a lot of people do (including men). I am more of your 'à la nature' type girl. I will never be beautiful but I try to keep it natural as possible and look after my natural features.

I only wear a pink lip gloss and not lipstick. Again, I am lucky with having fat(ish) pink lips so just accentuate what I have.

Mame
