Hi everyone, I was wondering what guides a TS/TG in choosing a new name. I've known some who have just taken a female form of their name (John - Jane), right through to others who have chosen really outlandish names. To the TS/TG members, what guided your choice? To the guys, what name would you take? cheers, Tony PS I'd be Jennifer Louise...two of my three favourite female names

Well names and something that identifies who you are, like if they say my name, i will say hey that's me unless you have someone with same name.
My real name is Dodie and my girl name is Judy. They sounds they same just a bit change. I like that name coz it sounds sweet and calm.
But nonetheless the name that you choose identifies your unique personality.
So good luck guy in choosing the best name for you.

I didn't choose my name, instead friends called me from my real name and it been shorten by few letters.. end up I got my new name.. If i could choose a new name, it would be Elizabeth or Aisya..

Hi Judy,
so you don't consider "Judy" as being your real name now? Is that because paperwork still has your old name? I've noticed other TS/TG from the Philippines have described their names like that, so do you think it might be a cultural thing? In Australia, most TS/TG I've met would consider "Judy" their real name, and "Dodie" their old name.
Very curious about this, and hope I'm not stepping on any toes with this.
Oh, and I'm not changing my name...hehehe.

I chose my name from a movie. I admired the qualities the character had - she epitomised the qualities of a woman. I have sometimes regretted it as it is unusual and draws attention but my friends all say it suits me.

My name is John. First I went as Johnna because I knew a girl in school by that name. Later I became attracted to double names. So I changed it to Sissy Louise 20 years ago. My initials are S.L.Y. for Sissy Louise Yates.
