I was wondering if anyone here has any thoughts on the concept of a third gender? I have read stories of ts who for whatever reason live as part male and part female. I have also read of ts who reverse the transition and live (seemingly quite happily) as a androgynous person.
Just curious on peoples thoughts.

Really? I thought that 3rd gender are the trans. I mean people who born male but inside them , they feel women and of course they wanna change that.

It (too me) basically means people who's social role is a combination of male and female. I read of a trans who had the operation then regretted it. He has now gone back to being male but of course has breasts and vagina. He said he was happy in that role. He is not male or female - in particular he doesn't feel the pressure of social stereotypes. The concept of what a man is and what a woman is is changing so I wouldn't be surprised if we saw this increasingly in our society.

I always considered a hermaphrodite to be the third gender. MtF is female and FtM is male.

i wouldn't know about that ... i know i'm a guy since forever but i think i won't change my sex. but even if i did, i wouldn't think of myself as a hunderd percent man. it's just too complicated. but on the other hand i think most of the people don't feel about themselves 100% of one sex. but just won't admit it. so in the end, i really don't have any firm idea about the third sex ...

I've heard so many different interpretations of the third gender that I have trouble making heads or tails of it. I guess right now I understand them as follows: 1. Male: Those who consider themselves male 2. Female: Those who consider themselves female 3. Third: None of the above... those who define themselves outside of traditional gender roles I've heard suggestions there should be at least three extra genders to describe the various kinds of transsexuals. Beyond that, I just don't know enough about the TS community to form a meaningful opinion.

We girls are the third gender. Sorry, but all between GG and real TG, I don't know what is it.
