Hi, I am not transgendered but I want to better understand your community so I have some questions which I hope people will answer. I don't mean to offend anyone.

1. Would you date another transgendered person? Eg. If you are FtM would you date MtF?

2. Does your non-transgendered partner consider themselves gay or straight? In particular with FtM as opposed to being considered a masculine lesbian. And would you get angry if they say they are gay?

3. Do gay non-transgendered people ask you out and do you get offended by this at all?

4. Can you still be transgendered and "gay" or is that just crossdressing? Eg. MtF liking women.

That is all I can think of for now so please respond. Thanks.

Few more:

5. Is the goal to get surgery to completely change or is okay to just stay how you are?

6. Isn't transgender culture just reinforcing gender stereotypes? Eg. Just because you like girly things doesn't mean you have to dress like it.

I realise that probably sounds harsh but I just can't wrap my head around it. I'm a straight female who likes "guy stuff" and often wears guys' clothes but I don't feel the need to identify as a guy. I know this is probably offensive, but why can't you be content living as a gay person of the sex that you were born? Sorry, so confusing.
