I just remember, I had a chat with a doctor friend a month ago when I had my annual blood test.. while we had conversation about hormones and anti-androgen, he asked me why my voice getting husky and he asked me what medication Im on recently or activities that effects my voice.. I told him i just started taking spironolactone back for the past few months.. and to my surprised, he told me that spironolactone does make one's voice getting husky and deep which thats what we girls want to have.. so i was quite shocked and yes i realised b4 he told me bout that my voice sounds like "Louis Armstrong" oh yeah but not "what a wonderful voice" here!! LOL.. well I might exaggerate abit bout my voice but yeah its getting more husky tone!!
So please girlss!!! I need some info from you girls here, or anyone noticed any changes on their voice while on spiro? to those who are from lucky countries who could ask your Dr who specialised on HRT please help me dig in about spiro and deep voice info?
thanks in advance girls and ermm guys if you could contribute some info here as well..
ps.. I hope no language/grammer police here.. but please do correct my language or spellings yeah guys!!
cheers!!

I have never heard of that LS. I have heard the Spironolactone can make your facial hair worse. I don't take spironolactone anymore. I didn't feel or see any benefits. My regular hormones seem to work just fine.
You do know that your voice will deepen as you get older? The longer you are pre op the more it will deepen over time. I have heard of many stories of people who noticed a marked feminisation after SRS even though they were on high doses of hormones pre-op.
Also, smoking makes your voice hoarse.

I've read about some tgirls having their testes (Gonads) removed to stop the production of testosterone, does that help? I believe it is common in Thailand where the girls are happy to keep their penis, but don't want the male hormones to be produced. Gonad removal is easier than total SRS and can be undertaken early in the transgender process.
I admit that I'm still learning about the whole issue, and it can get very confusing for a guy, especially if he is looking to date a tgirl.

Orchiectomy (castration) is an option. Yes, it is cheap. My only caution is that some SRS surgeons don't like you to have it done prior to SRS. I think one reason is that it leaves a scar which could interfere with later surgery and also, the scrotum shrinks somewhat which can impede the creation of a neo-vagina.
I personally would only consider orchiectomy if I had to postpone SRS for a long time (10 years or more).
